Family and friends

Anyone have family and friends that either don't know about your religion because they won't like it, or they know but they don't respect it? Vent here, and let other people try to help!

My dad, brother, and everyone at my school aside from my friends do not like that I am Wiccan. I regret telling everyone but my mom (she truly loves that I am Wiccan and supports me with everything I choose). At school I am called a devil-worshiper(hello that is why Satanists are called that(no I am not saying they shouldn't worship that it is their choice) not Wiccans). Tonight my dad went to far with his jokes (it's how he deals with me being a witch) by saying that because I believe in Wicca, I cannot voice my opinion. Yes it may have been a joke, but to me that is like saying the witches in the Salem Witch Trials deserved to die. When I try to make him understand that how I feel, I say that it hurts like if I were making fun of the Holocaust (which I would never do, I used to be Jewish). After that he slapped me and I ran crying up to the room. I really hope no one elses parents do this to them if they know.

I told my parents about Wicca, but they are not exactly supportive and a lot of my family is worried that it is Satanism. Whenever I tell a friend, either they will think it is really cool, or they will claim that I'm stupid because witches don't exist. It gets really frustrating when people make jokes about it. Its a freaking religion! I guess they just don't understand... Oh well, it's not like I'm going to change just because of what other people think!
